Lead Accountant

Contemporary Management Concepts is a fee management company, with over 43 years of experience in the conventional and student housing property management, responsible for 5,000+ units located in North Central Florida.

CMC is seeking an experienced, positive individual who is always ready to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. This individual will be responsible for overall accounting and financial reporting for over 30 properties, oversee the corporate accounting department and responsible for evaluation of internal controls with leadership to help guide financial decisions.

Education and Credential Requirements:  

• BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA Recommended
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting required
• Bookkeeping and reviewing daily accounting entries
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Managing the budget and audit process
• Experience with Yardi Software and QuickBooks preferred
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines requiring accountability and flexibility
• Good record keeping, well organized and strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics, and implementation of betterment practices
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
